Smith delivers where Bruce couldn’t with Villa transfer

|

The international break is now underway with games already having taken place and that means we’re getting closer to the end of it.

It should, now, pass fairly quickly for the Villans and that is a good thing when you consider the form we have shown in recent weeks.

Certainly, we’re looking a very dangerous outfit now and we’re backed up with a solid defence – something we’ve been waiting for for a long time.

Up top, meanwhile, we’ve seen Anwar El Ghazi really start to show what he can do and, though he is not the finished article, he looks much stronger under Dean Smith than under Steve Bruce.

Signed by the former Villa boss, he looked inconsistent and fairly weak on the ball, but under Smith he is enjoying a new lease of life and the former Brentford man is succeeding with him at the moment.

And, that said, his latest quotes via the Express and Star have underlined that with his bold comments suggesting that he and the boys are ready to take anyone on:

“Everyone is scared of us at the moment at Villa Park. There’s a good atmosphere in the team and in training.”

Confidence is high, let’s see the season out on a high.
