With Aston Villa’s inspired return to form in the last four games brought to a halt by another pointless international break, this weekend we get back to action and continue our Play-Off push from the Championship as we welcome Blackburn Rovers to Villa Park on Saturday.

Ahead of the break on loan Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham was a concern, especially when it was confirmed that he’d withdrawn from the England Under 21 group with a slight injury, but hopes were high he would remain in contention – and in Thursday press conference, head coach Dean Smith declared him fit and available for selection.

His return to the starting XI is an absolute no brainer, so no more discussion needed given his goalscoring form.

Fellow loan Axel Tuanzebe, has returned to training with us having sought treatment at parent club Manchester United and he comes back into our thoughts as well, but unless Smith immediately moves Kortney Hause back to left back, I imagine he’ll take a place on the bench and we’ll manage his return with a touch of caution.

I expect the same on Henri Lansbury who is also back fit now, but with so many niggles, bench at best for me given the theory goes, you don’t change a winning team unless you have to.
