The Sky Bet Championship action continues this weekend as Villa get back to club football after the international break.
Tomorrow, we take on a Blackburn side with very little to play for this season now as they look set for a mid-table finish.
We should win, then, but we must also guard against complacency in the clash.
Certainly, though, we look good to make it into the top six and one man seems fairly unsurprised by our recent run – Frank Lampard.
He and his Derby side will be looking to get into the top six come the end of the campaign but it is clear that he thinks we are going to be hard to budge.
He said:
“I expected Aston Villa to be in the hunt for automatic promotion, now they are making a run.”
We are making a run, though I think the top two is a little far out of our reach to be honest. It’s certainly nice to be given such a boost from the Derby manager though.
You never know, though, with the form we are in and with the nature of this most competitive of leagues.
