Statsmaster Update! McLeish Worse Than Houllier

Statsmaster update!

Hello all,

Thought I’d take the time to look at some stats from our first few games under Alex McLeish.

I have to say it’s rather worrying to say the least.

First, some average league points per game:

Martin O’Neill: 1.63
Kevin MacDonald: 1.50
Gerrard Houllier: 1.24
Alex McLeish: 1.20

Rather worrying that after playing such low down opposition that our points per game is LOWER than it was under Houllier!!

Secondly, after 10 games, we’re actually on exactly the same number of points as last season, again, worrying, as we’d at least played Tottenham, Everton and Chelsea at the same point last season.

Now for the most worrying stat of all.

If we’d have taken average points (based on last 5 seasons since start of 07/08) against the opposition we have played so far (and assuming a draw vs QPR away), then we would have accrued 16 points, a massive 4 more than our current total.

Worrying times indeed!

Let’s just hope there are worse teams in the league than ourselves!!
