Not a great deal of gossip today, in fact pretty much nothing apart from a report in the Sunday Mirror claiming that James Milner is now also on Arsene Wenger’s radar as he looks to add to the Arsenal squad next season.

One interesting article is a proposed overhaul of the transfer system. The Daily Mail report claims the PL clubs are largely in agreement following the financial downfall of Portsmouth. The main proposal is that transfers will have to be paid for within 12 months to help bring down the prices as clubs could only pay what they can afford.

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan is quoted in the report: ‘This will stop people going on the HP. ‘It’s not right that clubs say they will sign players over three or four years. Sometimes, they sell players on and still owe money to the club they bought him from.’

All seems sensible?!
