Andreas Weimann faces a few months on the sidelines as the ankle injury sustained against Rapid Vienna requires surgery.

Kevin MacDonald has confirmed the 19 year old striker will require surgery on his ankle, and it’s likely he will be out until October.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Kev Mac said:

‘He has ruptured the ankle ligaments. There’s still a lot of swelling but it’s probably a couple of months. He’ll be fine.’

I’m not alone in wishing the Weeman the best but thankfully it’s nothing too serious and he could’ve been out for a lot longer.

In other injury news the prognosis on Steve Sidwell is that he’ll be another fortnight with his Achille’s problem.
