It’s being reported that John Terry will announce Aston Villa as his pick for the future this coming weekend.
With everybody and their dog reporting that we have put in a formal contract offer for the former Chelsea skipper, the Mirror reported very early this morning that our golfing overtures in his direction had been successful, and furthermore our contract agreement was superior to Birmingham City’s offer.
Terry is a free agent this Saturday and he’s holding his counsel until then to announce which club will be his destination after almost two decades in the first team at Stamford Bridge.
Villa are 7/1 favourites to win the Championship, but it could be worth using this Ladbrokes free bet before Terry signs as those odds would undoubtedly shorten.
Following earlier reports, the Mirror say that our offer was a cool £5million with heavy incentives for winning promotion back to the Premier League and of course with Terry reticent to face Chelsea next term given his association with them, it appears our particular project could give him what he wants financially and on a football front from the coming 12 months.
