Friday, 9th October

The papers continue to talk about Gary Cahill`s comments re leaving, and Capello assures Heskey that his England future is safe.

Saturday, 10th October

Lots of positive vibes coming out of Villa Park today, as Craig Gardner talks up his brother; and MON says that Ashley Young will be better off for not going with England.

The Academy lads lose again though, 1-0 to Watford. What the hell boys?! I`m not used to this! Ha! I`m sure it will be fine though.

Sunday, 11th October

Emile Heskey apparently says that he may need to leave Villa in order to keep his World Cup place. There is much dancing in the streets of Birmingham…

Monday, 12th October

The Heskey talk carries on, with Gareth Barry and Frank Lampard apparently showing their support.

Tuesday, 13th October

It is strongly suggested that Gabriel Agbonlahor will start for England tomorrow.

Steve Sidwell says that he is aiming to get more amongst the goals. I must say that is the one thing about Sidwell I have been disappointed with, as I thought he would be getting an average of 1 in every 5 or so.

We beat Crewe 3-2 in a behind-closed-doors game, with Bouma and Luke Young playing most of the game. Craig Gardner and Andreas Weimann (2) got the goals.

Wednesday, 14th October

Steve Sidwell is still talking! Today he says that he is happy and settled at the club. I suppose we do forget that footballers do actually move away from family and all that. Not that the money doesn`t more than make up for it…!

Gabby Agbonlahor starts up front with Peter Crouch for England, and sets up a goal for him too. James Milner comes on as a sub for the last 15 minutes or so at left-back while Ashley Cole sat on the bench. I am sure if MON did that then people on this and other sites would be ranting away but whatever.

Thursday, 15th October

Emile Heskey says he is planning on staying at Villa. Many of those that were dancing in the street head for window ledges…

Friday, 16th October

MON gives the predictable “I pick the team” response to the Heskey situation. So he should, too.

Meanwhile, at Villa Park, the Vital Lions club have a very good night, with a nice tour of the ground and an evening with Gary Shaw and Tony Morley. I took a few photos but forgot to take one of me and The Fear. Not that it really affects my life, but I was looking forward to putting some rubbish, “Sheriff Kimbo finally confronts The Fear” style pun as the caption underneath :o)

Saturday, 17th October

Villa 2 – 1 Chelsea. Whoop whoop! What a good day. Chelsea played well and we beat them. We were very good too, and I think that a draw would probably have been a fair result, but then I thought that when Chelsea beat us 1-0 at Villa Park last season so boo-hoo! Richard Dunne and James Collins got the goals. Not sure when the last time two central defenders got the goals for us, maybe Paul McGrath and Shaun Teale away at Oxford around 15 years ago?

The Academy boys return to winning ways with a 6-0 hammering of Reading. Kofi Poyser got a hat-trick, with Ryan Simmonds, Richard Blythe and Andreas Steiber grabbed the other goals.

Sunday, 18th October

Not only did we beat Chelsea yesterday, but today Stewart Downing talks about making good progress to give us further options. Got to love the, “It will be like Villa having a new player” quote that he did a couple of months back!

Monday, 19th October

Emile Heskey is revealed as the player engaging in textual intercourse whilst on England duty that got Fabio Cappello all wound up!

Tuesday, 20th October

Gary Gardner signs a professional contract. Good for him! Meanwhile his brother Craig is linked with a move to Blues or Sunderland. I wouldn`t mind seeing Gardner get more time in the team, but I don`t see it happening unfortunately.

Wednesday, 21st October

Blackburn, Chelsea, Wigan and Fulham are all linked with a move for Emile Heskey. To be honest, I can see ALL of those moves making sense – yeah, even Chelsea to a degree. But given the noise made by him & MON I think that he`ll be with us for the season.

Thursday, 22nd October

Mick McCarthy reveals that he recommended Richard Dunne to Martin O`Neill, and says he is concerned that Dunne may come back to haunt him… 3 in 3 for the big man anyone?!

Stephen Warnock talks about getting into the England set-up. I can see it happening as a squad member but Ashley Cole is definitely the best left-back we have, even if he is a vile creature!

Finally James Collins heads off to Darlington on loan for three months, and both Eric Lichaj and Nathan Baker have gone to Lincoln on loan for a month.

Right that is your lot. I`ll be back next week. Probably…!
