One more of the ‘golden future’ appears to be being moved on, this time 19 year old Steven Foley who has a trial at Bournemouth.

DOL says he is delighted to have McCann back in training and fit. He says he was sorely missed last season and it is like having – yes you’ve guessed it – a new player.

DOL also says he is expecting more players, saying at the moment we have four in and four out. He says the market has gone dead but that it will hot up again and Villa are still searching. Rumours keep linking us to a striker and a defender. ‘The search goes on. We’ve got four players in and we’ve been lucky to get them in so soon, because I don’t think the transfer market has really taken off yet. We don’t want to lose sight of the fact that four have gone out and four have come in, so we do really need to bring more players in’

DOL also explains that he wants players who haven’t eaten for a good while ‘They’ve got to be hungry and want to be successful to push this club on. ‘

Jumper Jumper can’t wait for the start of the season and predicts the competition for places will be a boost to our European aspirations. Yeah, because other teams don’t have squads do they?! (Sorry, I didn’t realise I’d got my sarcastic head on tonight, I thought I was chilled, so that must be the curry working through).

Luke Moore wants to win silverware and become a Villa legend.

The official site state that ticket details for the Premiership trips to Manchester United and Portsmouth are now available and that tickets for the pre-season trip to neighbours Wolves are now on sale to season ticket holders.

Villa have been linked to ‘rising star of Iranian football’ Hossein Kaebi. Sounds like an agent putting him in the shop window, but hey, I don’t have any other rumours for you, not unless you want to know what my neighbours have been up to?!

Lets hope next week brings some more interesting news and gossip.

Thought for the day: ‘On the other hand – you have different fingers.’
