21 year old Peter Whittingham has been sent back early to Aston Villa from Derby County. The midfielder made 11 appearances for the Pride Park outfit and wasn’t due back until the middle of December. However the Rams have cut short his 3 month loan period after the player failed to be part of their squad for the last three games.

Stefan Postma is reportedly unlikely to return to Aston Villa when his loan deal at Wolves ends next month. The keeper has displaced Michael Oakes – another ex Villa keeper – and is impressing at the Molineux. His agent Piet Buter said: ‘We don’t know what will happen but I am 90 percent sure Stefan will not go back to Aston Villa because some club will pay a small fee and he will sign for them’.

David O´Leary has told the press: ‘I´m doing a good job at Aston Villa’ One report quotes a ‘local radio celebrity’ as calling O’Leary an ‘arrogant pratt’. O’Leary added (and you know what his quote will contain before you even read it) ‘The players let themselves down at Doncaster. I was disgusted but I know they are an honest bunch of lads who didn´t mean to do what they did the other night.’

Villa have been drawn away to Hull in the FA Cup 3rd round draw. The tie will be played on the weekend of 7th/8th January, 2006.

The last poll asked if you wanted David O’Leary to say, the verdict is in and the answer appears to be no! 93% of fans who voted said that the current Villa manager should be sacked with only 7% standing by the under pressure boss. The odds for O’Leary to be fired have been slashed and a report in the Daily Express today suggests he is just one loss away from losing his job.

The latest poll is asking if you want John Gregory back. It currently stands at 72% saying yes.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Glenn Hoddle has been linked to a transfer window swoop for Lee Hendrie. The player has been liked to both Wolves and Southampton in loan deals, but the latest quotes appear to suggest Hoddle might test Villa’s resolve in keeping the midfielder.

Hendrie might also not keep his starting place for the weekends game against Bolton Wanderers.

Seen one story on a forum suggesting Baros will want to move from Villa at the end of the season. Hmmmm. Not when we get our takeover I bet! 😉

Leeds have been linked with a move for Jumper Jumper with Eirik Bakke moving the in the opposite direction.
