Danish international goalkeeper Thomas Sorenson is another player looking forward to next season after Kevin Phillips and Juan Pablo Angel spoke of their determination to set things right for 2006/7.

Sorenson, who currently has a finger injury, told the official site: ‘The main aim next season has got to be to do much better as a team. We know what we’re capable of, but we have to live up to that.’

He also says that last season was ‘quite disappointing’ for the team but ‘personally I was happy with the season and the way it went. I kept 11 clean sheets, plus a few in the cup. So in that department we bettered what we’d done in the past.’

‘I was quite happy with that, but overall we were very disappointed as a team.’

  • With O’Leary in charge I’ll be happy with any improvement on last season, especially if the “R” word is completely avoided. If we can get a new manager (and by that I’m not being O’Niel ambitios, Cowans would do for me at this stage) then I would be diss

  • I’m glad to see that confidence appears to be high in the camp and that the players are keen to improve on their failures of last season. Now is the time for talking, but the talking has to be replaced with actions in August.

  • They’ve a lot to prove, thats for sure. But look at the squad, and they should be more than capable of a top ten finish. Mind you, I’m talking before the exit of our top talent begins.
