According to the Daily Mirror West Ham would want £12m for striker Craig Bellamy with Aston Villa already linked, along with Tottenham and Celtic.

Looks like Newcastle striker Michael Owen will stay with the Toon until the summer as he says he has no intention of leaving in January.

Reports are still linking us with Jermain Defoe once claiming we will bid £15million for the Portsmouth and England striker.

Reports are saying Villa have put a £30million price tag on Ashley Young’s head to ward off interest from Real Madrid. WRONG on two scores. 1) £30million would be nowhere near enough to buy a player of such genuine promise 2) £30million is a standard enough price for big spending Real Madrid, we’d need to put a £100million price tag on his head to put them off and hey, lets go for a 3) ASHLEY YOUNG IS GOING NOWHERE!

Another rubbish report is in the People who say that Emile Heskey will stay at Wigan Athletic and see out his contract meaning he can leave for free in the summer. No problems so far BUT the paper says that Villa couldn’t afford his wages and a fee to attract the ‘striker’ in the winter. Yeah right. Nice bit of lazy journalism there then.

Sky Sports are reporting that Villa are close to completing the signing of 17-year-old Feyenoord defender Arsenio Halfuid. His agent, Winnie Haatrecht, told De Telegraaf ‘Aston Villa have watched him a couple of times and are doing everything to get him to England from 1st January. If the clubs can settle the transfer then he will sign for two-and-half-years.’
