Kortney Hause has finally completed his £3m move from local rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers, following his successful loan spell with us last season.
He becomes our third confirmed signing of the summer after Jota and Anwar El Ghazi, with Wesley Moræs also inbound subject to a work permit and international clearance.
The Sporting Director at Wolves, Kevin Thelwell, had some warm words for Hause following confirmation of his move to Villa Park.
“On behalf of everyone at Wolves I would like to thank Kortney for all of his efforts both on and off the pitch during the past five years. Kortney has been a tremendous servant to this club, providing a solid backbone to our defence in the Championship where he helped lay the foundations for Wolves’ rise to where we are today. We wish Kortney the very best in all his future endeavours.”
The reaction of Villa fans on social media has been largely positive:
In today’s world of crazy prices this is a great bit of business

There's a lot of hate for him 🤔 he's done well for us and hope Dean continues to get the best out of him, by his 2nd game he was right at home. All those saying its his level and mind the gap carry on, we'll stay quiet like we did with blues and see where we are end of season

Absolute steal.. especially if it means we get to keep the 'Our Hause' terrace chant going! Great bit of business this – welcome back @Kortney_30 #UTV

Good news. Fitted in well last season, visibly improved during a run in the team, covers two positions, a part of that core squad during the promotion push, young enough to get better still. Cheap fee, all things considered. #avfc

Reaction from Wolves fans has been mixed, but by-and-large they wish the young defender well on his move to Villa Park.
Best of luck to rapper and part-time footballer Kortney Hause on his move to Villa.
Always had a lot of promise, but he was never going to get ahead of Boly in the starting XI.#wwfc #wolves pic.twitter.com/DJ8CmqfMRK

Kourtney had a lot of potential but truth is he hasn't improved during his time at the club probably due to a lack of opportunities he's a presence at the back but always looks likely to make errors. 3 mil for an English CB is a good price tho

He was prone to the odd calamity , and when Jordan graham came they both were more interested in having music careers , if he gets his head right he’s a good player , but he’s nowhere near prem quality , lacks concentration

Best of luck to Kortney Hause whose permanent move from Wolves to Aston Villa has now been confirmed.#WWFC #TalkingWolves pic.twitter.com/Jj2X81ItxZ

He played week in week out after he broke into the 1st team, after 4 months was dropped he made so many stupid mistakes. Iorfa came into the team at the same time and he was the same. Not consistent 2 good games then 6 bad.
