Kevin MacDonald’s Under 23 side took victory over West Bromwich Albion’s counterparts last night at the Bescot Stadium.

Meeting up with our local rivals once again this season at Under 23 level, Villa picked up a three nil victory at Walsall’s ground as we took another Premier League Cup victory this term.

In clashes this year it makes it four nil across the season!

We went into the game sitting top of our group and with more points we are in pole position to qualify for the knockout stages of the tournament following goals from Andre Green and Callum O’Hare.

We are now three clear at the top of Group E.

We now face Ipswich Town and Sheffield United as we look to cement ourselves in the last 16.

Green hit a brace in the game as he continues his comeback from injury with O’Hare scoring from the penalty spot.

It must be said, Bescot is a regular home for Under 23 games, but yesterday evening we were the away side but clearly that played in our favour knowing the pitch well.
