Until He Commits To Villa I Won’t Commit To Him

This seems a bit of a shame.

The Birmingham Mail have quotes from Steve Bruce saying he had Rushian Hepburn-Murphy on the bench at the weekend because he had been told the striker was close to signing a new deal.

Now it seems it`s not been signed and Bruce is playing hardball with him, which is understandable.

Bruce said: “We have made a fantastic offer to the young boy but until he commits he won`t be involved.”

FORUM THREAD on Rushian Click Here (some strong language)

The Mail report ‘understands` he`d become the highest paid youth academy graduate ever for his age.

HOWEVER… we do have to remember this is his career, not ours, he might have premiership clubs after him or somewhere else who can ‘guarantee` to give him game time. It`s a big decision, hope he makes the right one (that`s staying with us obviously!)

Bruce says it quite simply “Until he commits then I won`t commit to him. I would rather get a young player in who will commit.”

As you know, he came on as a sub against Cardiff City ahead of Jordan Ayew, which I would think was a sign from Bruce to say you will be given game time with the new contract.

Shame, thought this was a good time for him to get some game time and show us what he can do with Kodjia away. But will this public rebuke make him want to sign or push him out of Villa?
