Well, we have our second singing apparently.

He`s a striker.

He rarely scores though.

It`s Gabby Agbonlahor.

I kid you not.

The managers book of football cliches strikes again. A fit Gabby is ‘like a new signing`. Like a reoccurring nightmare more like.

My reply!

Great answer…!

Bruce told the Mail ‘It’s like having a new signing. He’s here, he’s available, he’s fit, I hope we can see Gabby again,’

I hope the opposite. He continues on the wind up saying “I know through experience that he’s a very good player. He’s one of our own, he’s Villa through and through.’

What experience? Look at his goal scoring record? And if he is one of our own, Villa through and through, well………. last season? Season before? Season before?

He scores more off the pitch than on it. The season we`re going down and twice he made the front pages, not once did he trouble the back pages.

Just how many managers will he get through?

‘He went on a vigorous training regime, so much so that when I called upon him sat Cardiff last week he gave us a spark.”

Why wasn`t he fit from the start of the season? And just how much of a spark? How many telling crosses? How many goals? Missed a good chance, that`s only a spark when you compare with the rest of the no shows from the 1st half v Cardiff City.

Some say shut up and support him. I have, for season after season. Not now, not after last season, not ever. If he scores – does his job – whilst in claret and blue, great. As said, it`s his job. But I`ll celebrate the day this character is out of Villa Park.

‘He’s played 300 times for this club in the big league, if he’s still got the hunger then he’ll be important. he knows as well as anybody that he’s messed up in the past, for me, he hasn’t.’

The hunger might explain his weight. As for playing 300 times, true dat. And how many goals did we get from that?

I know some say forgive and forget. I used to be a massive fan of Gabby, but the disrespect he showed last season is etched into my claret and blue brain. Then he had the temerity to turn up for this season unfit? No, just no. He`s like a boxer who once had it but is now punch drunk, remember this one on one v Cardiff City at home?

Or his miss-control of the ball that led to the Norwich goal (still Elphick should have stopped it as well)?

If he`s the quality we now hang our hopes on, then it`s no wonder we are 12th in the Championship.

And yes, I realise if he is contracted and we are short of strikers, the argument is to use him. He`s set such a great example over the seasons though, I`d have paid him off personally.

Sorry for the anger, sorry for the rant, I love Villa just like you do and this sort of thing just sends me apoplectic. Heard it too many times, he`s had too many chances and he`s continually let us down. Now we are meant to believe he`s a great player and will be like a new signing?

Pull the other one Steve.
