Villa have agreed a fee with Chivas for goalkeeper Brad Guzan.

The 24-year-old hinted yesterday that he thought all would be concluded in the next day or so and has now told ESPN:

‘It’s been absolutely unbelievable. Obviously being able to stay at a club for three-and-a-half years, learning and growing as a player, as a person. I’ve been very thankful for Chivas USA and everything they’ve done for me. And obviously the league has made tremendous strides, and hopefully it’ll keep going in the right direction.’

According to the Express & Star the fee is in the region of £1million and quote Jorge Vergara, a part-owner of the Chivas confirming:

‘He’s leaving for Europe, to England specifically, and we’re very happy and very glad that another Chivas player is going to Europe.’

Villa are also still being linked to another American shot stopper, with fresh reports saying we are after Blackburn Rovers 37-year-old Brad Friedel.
