Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers have agreed a fee, believed to be around the £5million mark for young defender Gary Cahill.
The major news networks are suggesting that O’Neill has now given Gary Megson permission to talk to Cahill, who has spent the majority of the season on loan at Sheffield United.
Following the agreement that Olof Mellberg will stay on until the summer, it appears that Cahill’s chances of selection would be severely limited.
