Mat Kendrick at the Birmingham Mail reports that former AC Milan and Chelsea Boss Carlo Ancelotti is top of the Aston Villa board’s shortlist.
The article states that Ancelotti’s huge salary would not deter our American owner from making a move but concedes that the Board would have to work hard to convince him of our ambitions of seriously pushing for a Champions League places and they may point to the money spent on Darren Bent as evidence that money is available to help achieve that goal.
David Moyes, Mark Hughes, Roberto Martinez, Steve McLaren and Martin Jol are also believed to feature on the shortlist to replace departing boss Gerard Houllier.
