Ok, as per usual, following a press conference, (more from us later on quotes etc I’m sure) some are picking on tiny negative points as a way to worry instead of the majority of comments from our new manager which appeared to me anyway, to be nothing but positive.
Anyway, just had a text from a good friend and Villa man (and no, he isn’t someone with a vested or self interest, ie staff) who was lucky enough to be introduced to Gerard Houllier. My mate, a fan for 40 odd years said:
‘Just met GH and had a quick chat. He impressed me more in two minutes than our previous manager ever did. Genuine, charming, witty, genuinely interested in who you were and why you supported the club. He was even cracking jokes and most importantly said:
‘we are onwards and upwards from now on, this is a great club.’
So there you go. A first hand account from a long term Villa fan and his meeting with our new manager.
