Don’t forget there is a hidden forum (not sure actually, might be worth making it non hidden?!) for all members.

As per other emails, I can help get tickets home and away… never guaranteed but happy to try to help.

Right, 5 aside tournament. Need to know who wants to be considered. Not sure as yet if we are over subscribed how we will choose the 7… might well just have to go with who is the most regular on Vital Villa, after all this is the Vital Villa Lions club.

So email me / leave a message in the thread (you need to be logged in to see this: Click Here

We’ll have to raise £100 per player through sponsorship, we can do this I’m sure but bear in mind you will have to try to raise at least some of that in order to be entered.

ASTON VILLA LIONS CLUB FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT PROPOSAL

1.The network of Lions clubs will compete for the Acorns 1874 challenge cup.

2.The tournament will consist of 16 Lions Club teams from within the Lions club network.

3.Matches will consist of 5 aside team games, each club being allowed 2 substitutes.

4.The 16 sides will be divided into 4 groups of 4, with the winners of each group going forward to the semi final and then the winners of those 2 games going forward to the final.

5.Each game will be 20 minutes long, 10 minutes each way.

6.The date for the tournament will be Saturday 21 May 2011 which will coincide with the Lions club end of season awards weekend.

7.The venue suggested is Aston Villa`s training ground at Bodymoor Heath. Please note this venue is still to be confirmed by Aston Villa.

8.Tournament kick off time to be confirmed.

9.Each team will provide their own strip. Colours must be confirmed by the team at the time of sign up. If two clubs submit the same colour kit, we will then ask one of the clubs to change the colour of the strip. Our suggestion to make things easier is that each team submits one solid colour strip i.e. Orange Shirt Orange Shorts Orange Socks. So we are fair to all clubs we will not allow claret and blue strips.

10.Referees will be supplied by local Lions clubs.

11.Changing, toilet facilities and other amenities will be confirmed nearer the time and once we have a venue confirmed

12.Presentation to be made by a Villa old star, subject to availability, and the winners could be presented on pitch at the last match of the season; this again will need to be confirmed by AVFC.

13.The funds raised from this event will come from each player, being sponsored for a minimum of £100.

14.Hopefully collecting a minimum of £11,200 for the Acorns charity.

Vital Villa registered last year as an official supporters group under the magnificent name of: Vital Lions

We are now sneaking up nicely in the table of Villa Lions: www.avfclionsclubs.co.uk

forum

We currently have 112 members, why not join up and join in?

So what will the benefits be to us as a website community?

Well, there are few that should catch the eye from the start, namely:

FREE membership
10% Discount from Villa Village & City Centre Store
Access to Holte, Taggart or Gordon Cowans Suites on Matchdays.
Exclusive Discounted Lions Club Merchandise. These are nice and something only supporter group members can buy: Click Here
Former player meet ups

Not to mention the ability to get some ticket allocations. Now I don’t want to become a ticket agency for non active members, or anyone else really, BUT we can do group bookings and I’m sure this will be a benefit especially to fans from abroad who often email or pm me asking how the heck they can get tickets!

Home Tickets availability: Up to 20 every home game per branch.
Away Tickets Availability is more limited but depending on the allocation taken by the club, there will be some options.

+ a Group Booking availability: Over 50 Tickets per Group Booking selected Fixture.

What else?

Membership cards
Players awards and presentations.
Supporters club evenings in the holte as well as special events eg the night before the Chelsea game last year (more to follow this season I’m sure): Click Here
Supporters Club annual awards evening.
Supporters club evenings in Holte Pub
Supporters Club Website.
Match Day Programme Interview and Feature.
Aston Villa Events
Chairman`s Day – End of season Reward.

We are the first website based group to be set up and I think it could help further build our great community on Vital Villa!

I’ve set up a forum category specifically for members, the first part is public explaining how to join, the second part will be Vital Lions members only which you are added to when you join up: Click Here (to get back to full view of all forums, just click ‘show all categories’) and there is also a Lions members forum to liase with members of all the clubs which would be good to join: avfclionsclubs.co.uk

So what do you need to do to join the Vital Lions I hear you cry?

Simply email me at: astonvilla@vitalfootball.co.uk with your full name, address, telephone number and client ref (if you have one, if not I believe the club will sort you one out) PLUS if you are a season ticket holder or not and for my info let me know your Vital Villa username (this is a Lions club for Vital Villa members, so if you aren’t a member, you can easily join up here: Click Here ) If you are active on the site, I’ll bend over backwards as the Chairman of this supporters group to help, if you aren’t then … it is a two way street!

Also happy to introduce you to other clubs if you prefer to join a club local to you or you can find details here: avfclionsclubs.co.uk/index.php/search

The info you send is not for public display or publication, it goes to Alan Perins, the Lions Club Supremo to deal with and as an ambassador of the club he is obviously only too aware of dataprotection etc.

Any questions, simply post in the forum: www.astonvilla.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum
