Following more disappointment for Aston Villa fans at the weekend as we could only draw with Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium, everyone will be hoping we finally gain some momentum from how we finished the game as we now prepare for Derby County this coming Saturday.

With Jack Grealish returning to training last week having been sidelined with injury since our 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns more than ten weeks ago, hopes are high that Jack can now come back into head coach Dean Smith’s first team thoughts as we’ve clearly missed him.

With a solid week of training under his belt, we’ll have to see if Saturday is too soon given the length of time he’s been out, but it’s easy to read into his latest foray onto social media and assume the 23-year-old is sending his own message.

Even if he’s not quite ready for 90 minutes, seeing him back on the bench would be a lift as he continues to build his fitness and sharpness levels, and with John McGinn set to return after Derby, we’ll hopefully get ourselves back on track and finish the season strongly even if the Play-Offs are now a pipe dream.
