This is always nice to read.

Martin O’Neill says the fans were ‘fantastic’ at Reading and the attitude of the Claret and Blue army paid off.

MON explained on the official site:

‘At 2-0 down they were still cheering us on. The fans didn’t give up – so why should the players? The one thing you didn’t want was to go out meekly in front of fans who had turned up and spent a lot of money at Wembley and a lot of money to go to Reading to come and support the team.’

The first goalscorer for Villa Ashley Young also said the fans were ‘brilliant’ and always are. Adding, ‘They were the 12th man against Reading. They have been like that since the start of the season. They have been fantastic.’

Great to read.

I was a lightweight yesterday, stayed at home after the expensive Wembley weekend but as soon as I heard the Villa fans in fine voice, I regretted not going (sorry Sir Jonah, I should have listened! lol)

I’m a funny bugger, I just love to read compliments about the fans, we all spend so much time, energy and obviously cold hard cash and are a great tribe in my ever so humble opinion.
