Director of Football Steve Round has been discussing the ‘Villa Engine’ and the positive strides forward he believes Aston Villa have made since he came into the club.

With Dr Tony Xia’s takeover complete and Keith Wyness in position, Round was drafted in to create and begin work on a vision for Villa that could be implemented from first team level and then filter down to our youngest age group so our developing youngsters knew what style they were supposed to be playing to help their development further and ease a pathway into the first team.

The Lions look to have taken one step closer to a possible tie up with Lyngby Boldkulb this week.

Following the earlier speculation about a possible takeover or tie up of some sort with Danish side Lyngby Boldklup to begin our network of ‘sister clubs’ as we look to spread our wings, Aston Villa officials were set for a trip to visit the side and their board to open up a line of discussion.

News of that meeting has now filter through into the media and Danish outlet BT have reported that the meeting was fruitful and could be considered a success.

It’s being reported that Aston Villa’s pre tax losses have been slashed in our latest set of accounts.

Despite missing an immediate return to the Premier League following our relegation to the Championship, InsiderMedia are reporting today that our latest set of accounts covering last season show that pre tax losses have been reduced from £80million in 2016 down to £14.5million.

The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game between Fulham and Aston Villa this Saturday.
