With the November international break now fully over, it’s time to get back to real football and for Aston Villa that means welcoming local rivals Birmingham City to Villa Park for a predictable early kickoff at midday on Sunday.

Birmingham’s Trillion Trophy Stadium almost had something to crow about as they were bizarrely above for us for almost a fraction of a second this season, but this weekend it’s time for Villa to pull away again and open up the gap.

Social media has been an interesting place this week and Villa were happy to stoke the fires a bit with some leading Tweets of their own. I assume Birmingham reprinted them on their site again.

The week opened with the club pointing out that Conor Hourihane has been directly involved in seven of our goals so far in 2018/19 (two goals and five assists) and fans had one message it response.

Make it eight.

Make it nine.
