Villa Reportedly Cool Interest In England Goalkeeper

|

With Stoke City and England goalkeeper Jack Butland featuring quite heavily on Aston Villa’s summer transfer rumour mill, whilst most eyes on Monday were on the fantastic announcement of the return of Tyrone Mings on a permanent deal, there was an update on the Butland front.

CEO Just Wants “Fair Price” For Reported Villa Target This Summer

With the rumours rumbling on but Villa seemingly being unwilling to meet the price that Stoke had put on his head, Sky Sports reported on Monday that they believed we had now ended our interest in the 26-year-old stopper.

It seems Stoke won’t budge from their £25million valuation of him and with other options available to us and any new goalkeeper coming in, meaning that one of Lovre Kalinic or Orjan Nyland (or even both), would need to be moved on, it does make sense to cool our interest until we see what develops elsewhere.

With Mings now through the door it’ll be interesting to see where we look to strengthen next.
