Academy graduate Jack Grealish has been challenged to ‘have a word’ with Aston Villa’s miss firing seniors following yet another defeat to Norwich City last weekend.
Having lost 3-1 at Carrow Road in our last Championship encountered, Grealish took to twitter as he often does.
Devasted about the result today, wasn’t good enough from us. Onto a big game Tuesday back at Villa Park ⚽️ #AVFC
— Jack Grealish (@JackGrealish) April 7, 2018
Grealish was of course one of few players to come out of the game with some credit for his efforts and he did score our consolation strike on the day.
Fans clearly appreciated his message and although the importance of the upcoming Cardiff City clash was a subject of debate, many fans called on Jack to ‘have a word’ with his teammates to get them back on track.
Majority of the players look to have given up, need you and JT to inspire them now!

Good goal today jackie boy. Couple of them every week please.

Have a word Jack.
Could of got 11 more committed players out the crowd today.
8hr 400 mile round trip to watch that shite. Bottled it again— Andrew Gardiner (@AndrewjG79) April 7, 2018
As for the subject of whether or not Cardiff City remains a huge game next midweek, I think it probably takes on even more importance now given our form and the way we are slipping behind Fulham in the play-off spots, but some appear to think it’s now a dead rubber.
Im glad you’re gutted about today but as for Tuesday it is no longer a big game we wont catch them even if we beat them on Tuesday too little too late unfortunatly #AVFC

Rather have Cardiff City than Fulham in the play offs myself, so beating Cardiff may help Fulham over take them to grab that automatic spot. It’s also important we avoid 6th place.

To little to late, the season is over with, no way you lot will perform in the play offs. You bottle it in the games that matter. If your not careful you’ll miss the playoffs

It’s not been good enough since the wolves game jack, not a dig at you. But we should be beating these sort of sides if we are serious about going up. QPR Bolton hull Norwich we’ve took 2 points isn’t good enough!

8 points in 5 games is massive by what you are saying we can still get second then.

Back over to the players and hopefully a performance that can make fans proud again and get us back on track.
