Apparently the News of the World claim that Sir Alex Chewalot wants to take Villa winger Ashley Young to Manchester United. Well, I guess he wouldn’t want to take him to anywhere else!

I’ve not seen the report and at the moment can find nothing online.

PortuGoal claim that Villa have joined the race to sign Sporting defensive midfielder Miguel Veloso. The 23-year-old Portuguese international has apparently stated a desire to play in the Premiership. Bolton Wanderers are also interested along with Arsenal and Manchester City.

The Sunday Mercury repeat the link from in the week that Spurs are to rival Villa for the signing of Sweden under-21 striker Marcus Berg mentioned several times within our transfer window rumour articles.

Another press story yesterday claimed that Villa want to get the 22-year-old FC Groningen striker because Spurs… who’ll have funds following the sale of Darren Bent (surprised we aren’t in for him, we were linked and he seems to fit MON’s profile and actually does know where the goal is… I digress…) will come in for John Carew. Nope, not likely, we are trying to build aren’t we?

Rumours are still doing the rounds that Villa are talking with Spurs winger David Bentley and hope to complete a signing soon, however one report on a website TODAY ie 5 July seems wide of the mark declaring the player will sign for Villa on …. July 1 :o) Or has the dastardly General finally completed the evil time machine for Villa’s plan to take over the world!?

Everton manager David Moyes is after Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes according to the Daily Star. Why do I mention that? The whispers last week was he was in Birmingham to talk to Villa. NO idea whatsoever if true, I could certainly find no evidence of it although Murph (Vital co-ed/forum member) had been in Birmingham and he has ginger hair also…! LOL

In other news, some obscene reports doing the rounds that Man City are prepared to pay John Terry £300 000 a week in wages and Chelsea will sell if City stump up £45million. Sorry, but this is the path to ruination for football and I hope it is very wide of the mark!

Another player I’m surprised Martin O’Neill isn’t after is Peter Crouch who looks set to leave Portsmouth. Apparently the England striker could fetch up to £15million… which wally sold him for £2million then David ‘I’m the bestest manager in the world’ O’Leary arrgghhhh! The Daily Star claims Fulham, Sunderland and AC Milan will do battle. Not sure if they are selling tickets for that or not?! Another report says Sunderland have their man for £14million

That seems to be that for today. A player INWARD next week? I think so…. watch this space…!
