Anthony Hart from Vital Bolton took some time to answer a few questions for us:

How has your season been so far?

It has been a dire start to the season. If everyone had been fit and on form, I think our team could have hard to beat, defensively solid, and be good enough at least be competitive in this division. But Sammy Ameobi, Josh Vela and David Wheater have all been injured, our superb defence from last season has been nowhere near as good this campaign (even allowing for the fact we’re at a higher level) and some of Phil Parkinson’s tactical calls have left a bit to be desired.

What are your aims for the season?

I hoped for and reckoned we’d stay up before the season, but it’s hard to see it now. Yes, I know it’s late September. We’ve scored once from open play.

How do you expect Bolton to play on Saturday?

We’ve played 5-3-2 a lot, but not in the last couple of league away games. We could go 4-5-1 like we did on Tuesday at Bristol City. It’ll be long balls for Gary Madine, and reliance on set-pieces or some individual skill from Sammy Ameobi.

Who in the Bolton side should Villa be wary of?

Gary Madine has been our best performer, he isn’t the best footballer as such but he fulfils a role as a target man and is pretty effective. He should give your centre-backs a handful. Sammy Ameobi only returned from injury on Tuesday and if and when he’s finally match-sharp he can hurt teams with his unpredictability.

Score prediction?

I’m really confident that we’ll upset the odds and come away having only lost 1-0
