1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

Good question, around 1987. I’d forgotten my football kit at football practise in primary school and a friend was rather spoilt as a child and had a vast array of different kits. He brought the Villa one as a spare and let me borrow it. Drawn to the Claret and Blue colour and the rest they say is history. 25 years on I’m still as passionate as then albeit with a bigger stomach and less hair.

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Very happy indeed. I know it`s a cliché saying anyone`s better than McLeish but it couldn’t be more true. A few friends, even a Man City fan, said to me that we’ve done well there. He wasn`t my first choice that was Brendan Rodgers. However, I’m happy as tactically hes sound and doesn`t mind chopping and changing and plays attacking football.

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Best – erm…….. next question please

Worst – the whole bloody season ! Pure boring negative anti football all season. Yet Mr McLeish never took any blame. I suppose being a ‘nice’ bloke has its advantages in the working world.

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

My opinion of Lerner isn`t an impressive one being honest. It`s funny how now we’ve appointed Lambert he’s back to being a hero again. I don’t think he knows alot about Soccer. That is more than obvious purely based on the amount of money he gave O’Neill and didn’t really ask any questions. Let`s be honest, most Chairman would have an alarm bell somewhere, especially when your manager spends more money on Curtis Davies and Marlon Harewood combined than what Spurs spent on Luka Modric. He also puts too much faith in our CEO which is another reason I’m not impressed. Paul Faulkner also knows nothing and he being elected onto the FA just about shows them for what they really are as well. Any chairman having to put faith in a CEO shouldn’t be in the job in my opinion. A football savvy chairman is the basis of a solid foundation at a football club and quite frankly I don’t believe we have one. After last year`s performance, it`s not down to a smart move from RL and PF in appointing Lambert. It`s more a case of giving in to the fans, the ones who REALLY matter, and getting bums on seats. Shame they never listened at the beginning of last season.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Grant Holt I would sign, 3.5 million should suffice. RL needs to heavily invest otherwise we’ll be back to square one again and people will be calling for Lamberts head. The ball is in his court now. I would be happy to try and sign the likes of Adam Johnson, Milner, Anthony Pilkington, Bosingwa on a free (Hutton needs to go). The lower league players are worth a gamble and would be a breath of fresh air. Marlon Pack looks decent at Cheltenham if you`re wondering Mr Lambert 😉

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Getting rid? Well, the sad thing is I don`t believe that will help if Lerner is only going to give Lambert 20 million to spend, as a few papers have said. If he wants to let him start afresh then personally I would get rid of Hutton, Collins, Warnock, Agbonlahor, Delph and N’Zogbia. It`s time for Gabby to move on as last season he didn`t seem arsed and being a Villa fan you would have thought he would be busting a gut no matter what position he was playing.

7) Favourite current player?

Favourite current player would have to Clark. Versatile and dependable when called upon. Predict a bright future for him 😉

8) Favourite all time player/s?

All time players are Daley, Platt, Atkinson, Draper and Dublin.

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?

Premier League – top half (I hope!) not sure where though.

Capital One Cup – awful name by the way. Quarter Finals me thinks

FA Cup – 5th round loss at home to Man Ure

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Don’t like that question so can’t be bothered to think of one.

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
(based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? Howard Marks and my question would be ‘would you do it all again?’ very interesting man.

b) Age 31 years young

c) Location: Swindon, Wiltshire

d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Any strong sweet cider with bits in it. 7.5% or above. Proper West Country ones like Sheepdip, Severn Cider, Cripplecock. All this Magners, Kopperberg stuff is absolute dross and not proper cider !

e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Quite partial to Vimto or Oasis

f) Favourite Film/s: Too many films to mention… any of these really. Sexy Beast, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Shawshank Redemption, Kingdom of Heaven.

g) Favourite TV Show/s: I`m Alan Partridge

h) Music?: My taste is diverse. Any motown, northern soul, indie. Stone Roses this month at Heaton Park 😉

i) Best ever moment in your life: Not sure on that one, starting my apprenticeship at Swindon Town probably.

j) Ambitions: To keep the governments hands off my pension and get a pay rise. Oh, and a miracle hair growth invention

k) Wise words: ‘You were a mistake’ (my father) 1981.
