1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

When I was about 10/11 years old roughly, family were mixed Villa/Blues but mates were Villa. Luckily my old man never took me to a game and I ended up going to Villa park for my first ever live match with a mate. It was amazing walking into the old Trinity Rd, the pitch was great as was the atmosphere. we beat Sheff Wed that day 1-0 after Tony Daley tore down the wing and pulled it back for Platty to finish. the roar was deafening and celebrations wild. I was officially baptised a Villan and have been hooked ever since that day onwards!

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Perfect fit for him and club currently in my opinion. He has served a good league apprenticeship and has gained a good footballing education from his playing / coaching days in Germany. He needed a step up but was not going to get one of the current top jobs but we are in the next tier. We needed a manager who will work with an adequate/responsible transfer and wage budget who can get the best out some underperforming players, who can gradually build the squad and club adding current and new young hungry players. He will try to win games and is not frightened to change things if it is not working. Not as elaborate and sexy football wise as some names mentioned but will balance good play with trying to get results. Easy after Eck for people to say ‘I don’t care as long as we play exciting attacking football and try to win’ but people will soon turn if the results aren’t forthcoming regardless of what they say and after all it is still a results business if you want some form of success!

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Worse – Apart from the obvious (Stan). Quite a few things but Spurs away really left me hurt, embarrassed, Insulted, upset and I wanted to lock myself in a dark room until it was all over. After desperately trying to back Eck’scuse’ and see positives hoping we could do okay, it was all thrown back in my and our faces that night. It really showed Eck for what he was and went against everything our club stood for. Was really very angry with Randy that night too!

Best – Norwich at home and Chelsea away, two good matches and performances and some goals to thrown in!

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

I still like him and will support him and Faulkner et al. He does I believe have Villa’s best interests at heart and wants the best for us. He has ploughed the cash in and has improved on our already great stadium and training ground etc. Couldn’t believe the appointment last year and still wonder what he was thinking of, but horrendous error corrected and has made a good decision with Lambert!

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Not going to give specific names, but definitely some young hungry fearless players who will be honoured to wear our shirt and be part of our fantastic club would be nice. If I was wanting to see us splash the cash on a certain position it would be on a centre midfielder (absolute pivotal position) and a centre half to play alongside Ciaran Clark. Any signings will be welcome in other positions as we can improve all over whether for first X1 or for a squad place!

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Will let Lambert decide and will support whoever is wearing our shirt for the minutes they are on the pitch!

7) Favourite current player?

Stan Petrov – Top man, an honest, professional and proud captain whom is a better player than he gets credit for and someone we sorely miss when he is not playing. Get well soon skip!!!

Ciaran Clark – I really rate this lad and think he has got it in his locker to not only be a top player but Villa’s future captain!

8) Favourite all time player/s?

McGrath, teale, Saunders, Platt, Townsend, Atkinson, Taylor, delaney, Mellberg, Laursen, Angel, Dublin, Yorke, Merson, Carbone, Barry, Young, Milner, Petrov, Bosnich, Staunton, Solano, Richardson, Gabby, to name a few!!!

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?

Premier 10th
FA Cup: 5th round
Carling: quarters

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Do you wish you could of supported another team?

NEVER – Have loved my time thus far as a Villa fan and am proud to travel the world letting people know. Proud of the city we represent and other supporters I meet. Supporters of other clubs always praise us when on my travels!

i) Best ever moment in your life: Birth of my kids / Whenever Villa score a goal(is at the time anyway) / Leading out Swindon academy at Bodymoor Heath, was a great game that finished 3-3 and I was immensely proud that day / 94 League cup final / On an FA coaching course with Sir Dennis of Mortimer (LEGEND)!

j) Ambitions: Do my very best for my family and achieve as much as I can in coaching!

k) Wise words: No great saying or anything, but treasure life and have no regrets. Live for today and enjoy yourselves because you do not know when it is going to be over for you or loved ones. There is enough death, Illness, tragedy and unhappiness in the world, so live long and prosper fellow Villans!!
