1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?
My dad was never into football, but in a small district in the south of the city, traditionally a Small Heath area I met a friend a few years older than me and he took me to a match, and despite a few pastings at school I never wavered.
2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?
Good news, to be honest the following isn’t a negative or defeatist attitude it cannot be worse than last season, and I hate using that as the yard stick, I am optimistic though good football, and some goals to cheer, although someone may have to let us know what to do when that happens.
3) Best and worst moments of last season?
Best 3-1 win at Chelsea level with the relief of Staying up and McLeish leaving, worst football wise Wigan away, took my 9 year old son, and he asked if he can put his iPod on, normally I forbid it, he’s there to watch the game but I let him and then had thoughts of leaving with 20 minutes to go, the 1st time that has ever happened…I’ve never done it and I live near Sheffield so the temptation last season was very high.
4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?
I met him once I was being shown around Villa Park, he was showing some investors/sponsors around at the same time he was so polite to me even though I was just milling around, I think he has made a few mistakes but I’m hoping now it’s onwards and upwards. As for next season I’m hoping for top ten and a move in from the drivel we saw last season, Makoun back, the insipid backbone removed and dare I say it maybe even a new keeper!
5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?
Definitely a centre back, someone to replace Hutton as well, and a keeper….Givens a shot stopper nothing more and judging on the euros this is not as good as it used to be.
6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?
Dunne, Collins, bad news, Hutton, I believe Warnock may have suffered due to the other three being inept…and a striker to help Bent, once again I’m courting derision but Agbonlahor is a typical English pacey striker a complete lack of intelligence on and off the ball, sure he’s fast, and on occasion he can finish, but his reading of the game is like a 10 year old child’s and I’m being generous.
7) Favourite current player?
My son would say Bent, but for me Bannan, in a good team as in better than last seasons, he can read the game sure sometimes he knocks an elaborate ball to no one but see above comment.
8) Favourite all time player/s?

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?
Premier 9th
FA Cup: 5th round
Carling: quarter finals

Why do football players not acknowledge kids at games, or why are they up their own backsides?
I have a friend who plays pro rugby league, he invited us to a game and after to the players bar, now we went to the bar ahead of him because after being battered round a football oops rugby field he went round the edge of the stands signing autographs, the players bar was packed with fans, they took photos with everyone who was their no surly refusals…my point oh yes my point…I went to the 1st game of the season last year and my son asked if we could sit near the tunnel so we could get autographs, we got there early and when they came off the pitch after the warm up they ignored the kids at the edge of the pitch…….I was fuming…all but Barry Bannan….footballers suck….rant over!

i) Best ever moment in your life: Married/kids aside watching my son take a penalty on villa park pitch, and seeing my daughter in her swimming classes. Football..watching us beat man Utd in league cup final
j) Ambitions: To see my kids grow up and have a grandson who I’ll insist should be a Villa fan, oh and get home from a whistle stop world tour for work.
k) Wise words: A wise Italian colleague once told me two tales the first of a man who always look worried, he asked him one day why do you always look worried..his answer I look worried but I am not he was the MD for a multinational comapnay, the advice a great game face gets you far!
Second part on a journey back from Milan he told me after we left a meeting, we left the meeting before everybody else, now we have left it will be our fault, always accept that if you aren’t there it is your fault!
