1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

At birth I guess, but I started to take a real interest during the 1993/94 season and eventually went to Villa Park for the first time in January 1996. To this day I still have very fond memories of the 1995/96 season!

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Lambert was by far the best option this summer. Martinez seems to be linked to every big job and I am not too sure why, though I’d of been happy enough to back him if he’d been appointed and the excitement following the link to Solskjaer was really quite bizarre… All in all, I think we have the right manager to take us forward and for the first time in three maybe four years, I am interested again.

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

As I touched on in my last answer, my interest in Villa has plummeted in recent seasons. From boring tactics under the last three managers to lack of interest from the players, I am sad to say I have fallen out of love with the game. The whole of last season goes down as being one long ‘worst moment’, for the first season since I was 10 years old, I didn’t attend a single game of the campaign. And only watched two or three games on TV. Perhaps the best moments were those rare occasions that I logged onto Vital Villa to see that we had actually won a game!

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

I used to think Lerner could do no wrong, but the appointment of Alex McLeish last summer was as ill fated as it was advised. He lost a lot of the goodwill he’d built up over the previous years and it will take a lot for the board to win the fans back round, the appointment of the fan’s first choice (as voted for by the good people of Vital Villa) will go some way to rebuilding the relationship between the fans and board though.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

I think we need a whole new back four, maybe another option up front and obviously a replacement for Brad Guzan. I would love to see Olof Mellberg back at Villa, and I believe he still has it given his performance against England the other night, he would make a great Team Captain too in Petrov’s absence. Not sure who else I would like at the club but I have no doubt that Lambert will make some decent additions.

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Richard Dunne and James Collins need to be shipped out, they been a thorn in the side of the last three managers. It didn’t sound like Alan Hutton pulled up any trees last season either and given Stephen Warnock has been as useful as a chocolate fireguard since joining the club, I think it is time to sell the lot of them and start next season with a whole new back four.

7) Favourite current player?

Shay Given, admittedly I didn’t see much of Villa last season even highlights but from the little I did see, Given was our best player. Always liked him and glad he is our number one.

8) Favourite all time player/s?

So many, Martin Laursen and Olof Mellberg have been my favourites in recent years. Going back a little further, I’d say Ian Taylor, Mark Bosnich and Paul Merson. But Dwight Yorke was my boyhood hero, so he probably just edges out the rest.

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?

Premier: 9th
FA Cup: 3rd Round (we must be due a tie at Old Trafford, surely?)
Carling: Semis

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Greatest Moment as a Villa fan?

Winning the Coca Cola Cup back in 1996 (been little to get excited about since!!)
