1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

Destiny.

Going with my Dad probs 1971. Lived in Manor Road went to Yew Tree Primary, loved the hustle and bustle of a Saturday in Witton, the stunningly pretty claret and blue rosettes selling on every corner, AV floodlights, sheer majesty of old VP, walking up the steps and the pitch coming into view as beautiful as a sun rise, minding your cars, being allowed stay up late for midweek night games and drinking Bovril to stay warm v the likes of Chester or Hartlepool, the cavernous Holte, the Old Witton, the immense roar of the pumped up crowd, knees up mother Brown, the right-side, fans who knew how and when to sing to raise the team, the shiver down the spine of feeling part of this tribe, something really special, never leaves you.

Even in the bad times it keeps you warm. We are indeed very special.

2) What is your favourite Villa moment of all time/most treasured memory?

Simply all of it, from a 5 yr old on VP muddy bank in 1971, from 3rd Division to winning the League and conquering Europe, the many ups and many downs, the rough with the smooth, the players who came and went, for today and looking forward to tomorrow, this mad obsession never leaves you regardless. Just gotta love the early season optimism!!

3) If you could bring back a former Villa player into this team (at his peak) who would it be and why?

Cant really pick between McGrath and Sir Brian Little so wont. But atm we could do with a really good winger to get us on our feet, so can I cheat and have the two Tony’s, Morley and Daley for the flanks please.

4) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Disappointed I suppose, seems out of his depth and has somewhat instilled an inferiority complex of some sorts in us. Oh and the negative scared football. Wasn’t helped by the players he was ‘forced?’ to go for, was this young and hungry policy dictated by Faulkner? Not sure, but we sure picked some cheap as chips duds. Hoping Keano can have a positive influence on him. We, Lambert and the players need all the help we can get this season.

5) Best and worst moments of last season?

Not too many high spots but the early season optimism after Arsenal away, didn’t last long, erm, Baggies and Norwich at home. The massive relief after beating Hull.

The bad? Where do I start? Even tho we won at Southampton it was very disconcerting to see how far we had fallen and how crap we had become and how afraid we were of mighty SOUTHAMPTON!! The abysmal home form. Fulham and Palace home and away, Stoke, Swansea away, so many, too many. The cup runs were also an embarrassment, especially after the Bradford debacle season before. Laughing stock horror show stuff. Apart from that it was great!

6) Your opinion of Randy Lerner now he has put us up for sale?

Same opinion, don’t like him, he doesn’t care a jot about us and is no good for us, the sooner he is gone the better. Tattoo me granny. Just hope he sells us with due diligence. Yes, he tried early on but that was a long long long long time ago. We need a new era so badly before we find ourselves in the chumpionship.

7) What sort of new owner would you like, what do you expect from them?

One with dignity, a sense of direction and deep pockets will suffice. One who recognises who we are and what we need ie better players and more Villa men at the club would be a good start. Ain’t going for this better the devil you know nonsense, time for change before the life is strangled out of us.

8) Transfers are obviously up in the air as we are for sale, but any ideas of who (probably with the current regime) like to see us grab?

Decent-ish business with the free’s and the return of the bomb squad, as some much needed experience at last is much welcomed as the young and hungry ethos was flawed and going nowhere except down. Not putting too much store in Cole tho but hopefully Gressi and GG can come on, hopefully the Sanchez deal can bolster our powder puff midfield to newer heights. Would like a good winger who can play down both sides. Weeman and Gabby ain’t the solutions out wide.

9) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

They all seem to have disappeared. Good.

10) Favourite and least favourite current player? (Explanation if you wish)

I thought Tony Moon and Tonev were especially brutal but I really love them all. Tho that will probably be subject to change in the coming weeks/months!!

11) Who was your first footballing hero and who are your favourite all time player/s?

The usual suspects. Aitkin, Lockhead, Graydon, Gidman, Gray, Little, Chico, Cropley, Evans, Mortimer, Sid, Morley, Withe, McInally, God, Platty, Saunders, Yorke, Taylor, Merson, Laursen, Melberg. Benteke.

Too many to mention them all.

12) What do you expect us to do/finish this season if not sold… impossible to speculate if sold at the moment!?

Premier: A lot are tipping us to go down so hopefully we can stay well clear of any relegation dog-fight and prove them all wrong. The only way to go, is sadly with very low expectations, so then the only way has to be up for us.
FA Cup: Winners
Capital One: Winners

13) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Will it get better this season, will Keano help, and will we stay up?. Yes, yes, and yes. Hopefully.

And I agree with Grizz, the Dafabet thing really gets on my nerves. And I don’t like Macron much either. Both cheap ass stuff.

14) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure: (based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why?
