1) When did you become a Villa fan
and why?
My first match was watching us play Santos (1971??). I was three at the time, but have a ‘memory’ of Pele at Villa Park. My first vivid memories are the 2-2 draw with Barcelona (2-0 down with five minutes to go and Cruyff in their team), the 5-1 thumping of Liverpool (1977?), the 1-0 League Cup win at Wembley (Ray Graydon rebounded penalty) and of course, the epic League Cup replays of ’77 (pass the ball back Everton)….
2) Alex McLeish? Your opinion please?
I may stand alone in this but when he became Blues boss I was a little envious. I honestly thought he’d done more with less in Scotland and was a stronger manager than MON. He was unlucky this year with the Scum – major players injured at key times…. I honestly think he’ll do well IF the fans don’t get over-excited every time we have the nerve to lose a game…. he’s an intelligent bloke and clearly a strong enough character….
3) Best and worst moments of last season?
Best – Darrren Bent’s debut goal against Man City and beating Liverpool and Arsenal in the final run-in. Worst – capitulation AT Man City in the cup and the fear of finishing below our midlands rivals….
4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner?
Close to perfect. He’s getting hammered by some fans for the AM appointment, but I think he’ll prove the doubters wrong. LOVE the fact that he stays out of the media (especially because it annoys Pat Murphy at the BBC so much…:)) unlike our previous chairman who thought he was the club….
5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?
Parker, N-Zogbia, Given/Foster, Milner, Dann.
6) Stewart Downing, if he really wants out, should Villa refuse to let him go or get shot? (ASKED BEFORE HE LEFT)
Unbelievable what agents/players can do nowadays. Liverpool are spending STUPID money so I honestly believe that we are ripping them off with 20 million. Snap their hands off and boo the pants off the ungrateful little sod every time he’s near Villa Park. He can’t/won’t tackle or defend and yet calls himself a midfield player. SEE YOU LATER! Good riddance….

Bent
8) Favourite all time player/s?
McGrath (unmatched), Taylor, Morley, Swain, Laursen
9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season?
Premier 7th
FA Cup: semis
Carling: quarters
10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?
Having lived abroad for 18 years, what do you miss most about Blighty? Trips to Villa Park, baltis, and the banter with Blues fans (so easy to wind them up…. they are experts at twisting history but all you do is laugh at them…)
11) Right, lets lower the tone… which celebrity would you most like to bang and which (male I would think) celeb would you most like to thump!?! Bang? –
