Stephen Warnock has been delighted with Villa’s form this season, and although he has a finger on an England call up, both his eyes are on the Top 4. Does that make sense?

Speaking to the Daily Mail ‘those damn Englishmen staying over here and playing for their Country’ Warnock said how pleased he was with not only working himself into a possible trip to South Africa, but also, and more importantly, the possible Cup Final and Top Four finish we are striving for.

‘I’m trying not to think about the World Cup. Villa are in the spotlight and one of the reasons I came to this club is because I knew they are capable of challenging for trophies.’

He finishes the interview by talking briefly about tonight’s second leg against his former club Blackburn.

‘We got a great result in the first leg, the only thing we were disappointed in was not to score more goals.’

He also rubbishes the idea that the West Ham game will have affected confidence in the camp.

‘We still know we are capable of doing well in the league and upsetting teams.’

Stating that given results of late, one dodgy game here or there isn’t really going to dent the spirit in the camp.

Good job, if the players ever got as distraught as I am Film 4 would be releasing ‘Massacre at B6’.
