What Do You Make Of The Mi£ner Situation?

Ok, so the James Milner move to Manchester City looks set to happen any day now.

Having read the quotes from Martin O’Neill and the ‘anger’ from Mike Field, directed more Villa/MON’s way than the players way, see: Bye Bye Milner I wondered what you thought?

The latest poll by chance….!…. asks the very same.

I’m split. I partly blame Milner for showing no loyalty, it was Villa that got him in the England side for the WC and Villa who showed faith to pay a high fee from Newcastle to get him. On the flipside, this will be a massive pay day for the lad and it is a career for him, a short one at that. + The style of play and tactics at Villa…. hmmmm. Would still like to have seen some loyalty but then I don’t suppose that really exists in football anymore does it, apart from amongst the fans.

I’d love to hate him for it, I won’t like him for it because a slight against Villa is a slight against us really… but we are the fans, we don’t move. They are the staff and they do. I would have hoped for more than two years from the lad though and did think he was a more stable and loyal character but hey, money can turn even the most loyal of heads I guess?

As Manchester City fan Buzz Lightyear said in our article comments: ‘If you do get Ireland for Milner, then the deal for you is a good one, Milner not worth what City are paying and Ireland is a class player, you are in a no lose situation.’

I tend to agree, so maybe Milner has done us a favour? For one Villa have again shown that we won’t be bullied when it comes to our assets, they’ll only go at the right price, + the money will help bring in yet more players (bets are on for Robbie Keane and Aiden McGeady the latter I know nowt about I must admit) + we’ll have Ireland who is arguably a better player, albeit maybe not as versatile, than Mi£ner.

So, what say you?
