When The Lights Go Off After Match Of The Day

There Is Only One Villa says:

We are down and heading for Friday night football, failing a miracle of biblical proportions. That much we know, and unlike the previous couple of seasons we have known our fate for a while.

No sleepless nights worrying will we or won`t we this season…instead a calming finality brought upon us by our current board in their ivory tower. Now we know our fate we look back and ask how did they happen, and face an uncertain future, with uncertainty in true Villa style.

We are owned and now run and directed by people who have neither knowledge of football or an affinity and love of the club.

We hear nothing from them apart from that there will be a ‘root & branch’ investigation, the results of which will be similar to turkeys voting for Xmas.

There will be cuts in services and job losses, a familiar modern day theme, no apology and no escape from the trap door which leads us into the unknown. The damage has been done we the ‘customers’ will bear the brunt of the inconvenience these people have caused us and they will go back into the shadows and plot how they can continue to take us further on a downward spiral.

Players will go and players will come in, managers will try the chair for size and disappear down the rabbit hole with the others who have tried to work magic for Mr Lerner and co. New places will be visited, tears and smiles will be in evidence in equal share. Villa Park on match day will resemble a town the day after the gold rush ended. All of this is bad however what will be sad is when the first match of the day of the 2016/17 comes to a close and the Premier league table appears on the screen..there will be no Aston Villa anywhere to be seen.

Mr Lerner & Mr Hollis you will not have any understanding of what that will mean do you?

I think Charlton Heston at the end of Planet of the Apes can sum up this feeling better than me;

‘You finally really did it. You maniacs! You blew it up! God dam you! God dam you all to hell!’
