Vital Villa asked, if things stay as they are, where do you think Villa will finish.

6% are living in the land of total faith and said we’ll finish in the top four. If we do Martin O’Neill will indeed be the messiah!

16% are confident of a 5th or 6th place finish and a Uefa Cup spot.

42% are looking for an improvement on last with with a finish between 7-10.

That left 32% saying 11-15th, basically where we battled last season.

2% said lower and 2% said down.

Our latest poll asks what you think Villa will do v Liverpool.

  • Ive gone for a villa win tomorrow. First game of the season is the best time to be playing one of the big boys….I hope.

  • 5th…..I know its an ‘IF’ but if we had of won six of our draws last term, which we should have really, we would have been 5th.!!…….we are stronger and more gelled this term, if a little thin on the ground. But this time every player has quality and hunger, the deadwood has gone and good riddance, so I think we will be a surprise package….to some……..we need more cover at the back though before the 31st, and I for one have faith they will come. Midfield and forwards are fine, and we have the ability to change formation quickly from the bench if needed. It will all boil down to attacking play, and we have that in abundance…… matter what all the moaners say……….there won’t be many defences wanting to face Villa this season as we can change at the drop of a hat, tons of pace and trickery………come on Vila……….lets start with a red scalp…………and Laursen my boy……stay fit !! you are the man………..remember, only Alessandro Nesta and Paulo Maldini Kept him out of AC Milans back four…..and thats nothing to be ashamed of…..Bouma show us more son, you have come into form, I wish you all the best in a claret and blue shirt, Melly, stay solid, you three stay focused can keep the clean sheets and let the rest bombard the opposition. Aston Villa 2 – 1 Liverpool …………go put a tenner on it

  • I’m torn between a draw and a defeat tommorow. My heart says draw but if I was putting a bet on I’d go for a Liverpool win!

  • Liverpool dont always start well! they’ve bought alot of new faces and its always differcult to get them to gel straight away. Villa are playing a settled side, at home, full house, hard to beat, it looks good to me. lets start well and back the the side and the manager. forget booing because of the lack of transfer activity. MON is the man to get us up there where we belong. come on the villa.

  • Just looked at the new official photo of the (bare bones) team and thought we had bought paul scholes from a distance (back row second from the left) 😉

  • Go ahead and put a tenner on the Reds, Deano. In fact if we all do that they might just look at their odds and get over-confident, which is good for us. Plus, if the unthinkable happens and they do win, at least we’ll have enough to drown our sorrows. And if Villa win (as they surely will do), who needs booze to be on a high? :o)

  • Nice to see enthusiasm Deanovilla……just what the lads need tomorrow……….glad we can count on your support. If its anything like the Liverpool team that came here last year then I think we will get a good result…….they were pants…..boring and defensive.

  • Realistic finish? Somewhere mid-table again. We are way undermanned, and injuries, suspensions, and loss of form are going to hit us along the way. Yes we do have indeed several talented youngsters, how will they cope though if results start to go against us, and the fickle VP crowd start to get on their backs? As for tomorrow, win, draw, loss, could easily go any way, but with a tough opening month or so ahead of us, we could certainly do with getting off to a flyer.

  • I agree with Christo, Villa win tomorrow. Finish in top 7 or 8. Deanovilla Cheer up for gods sake

  • I’ll go for 14th! I thought you’d have spent more dosh than you have. One big buy Nigel Mediocre!

  • Looking at the opening run of games, I hate to say it but we could be bottom four by first week in September. Desperately need all three points against Liverpool, but looking at the squad Rafa has to choose from, we just aren’t in theit league.
