Who Could England Beat?

Stennyvilla has suggested a poll and sent in an article to explain why he is asking it.

Everyone can understandably get carried away with all the media hype and own hopes for England in the World Cup. But while we have huge strengths in certain areas plus Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, the technical ability of the team to play good creative football on the deck is often lacking.

England are English whereas the premiership is an international league and arguably the strongest in the World. It can never happen, but on a real competitive head to head basis how well would England actually perform against Premiership teams. Who could England be relied upon to beat in a one -off match?


Option 1 is : Anyone in the Premiership

Option 2 is : All but Chelsea

Option 3 is : All outside the big four

Option 4 is : Bolton, West Ham, Blackburn and Spurs

Option 5 is : A Midland’s team!

Option 6 is : No one
