Aston Villa Academy duo Rushian Hepburn-Murphy and Callum O’Hare departed Bodymoor Heath during the January transfer window and headed out for some real action and experience with Cambridge United and Carlisle United respectively.
Former Villa assistant gaffer Colin Calderwood brought RHM in to bolster his attacking options for the second half of Cambridge’s League Two campaign and for all intents and purposes, it’s been a decent spell so far.
We take a point from a tough game away from home! Happy to contribute with a goal @jevanibrown20 😝 and good to see my bro @CalOhare x2 assist🎯❤️

20-year-old RHM headed out back on January 11 and he’s notched up six starts and five substitute showings so far, returning two goals. The last of which came on Saturday as they took a 2-2 draw against Cambridge.
Fellow 20-year-old O’Hare headed out ahead of deadline day to Carlisle and now has nine starts and one goal to his name, and although he didn’t get on the score sheet at Brunton Park, he helped himself to two assists in the game.
Frustrating not to get 3 points today, happy with the +2 assists and always nice to see my bro @Rushcmpt well done on your goal⚽️☄️

Tidy goal from RHM and O’Hare’s second assist on the day was probably the pick.
Looking through the reactions on social media to their messages, both are coming along quite nicely it seems.
