Most Aston Villa fans were wondering what we might get given the long and protracted transfer speculation that surrounded Carney Chukwuemeka’s brother, Caleb, but we finally got our man and struck a deal with Northampton Town back in August.
The 19-year-old striker has quickly settled in at Bodymoor Heath and we got a quick early sight of the player in our EFL Cup clash with Barrow as he made his senior substitute debut.
He has of course been heavily involved with Mark Delaney’s Under 23 side and he’s been doing well. We can probably expect to see him involved in tomorrow night’s Under 21 EFL Trophy clash with Burton Albion as well and if he does play, he’ll have received a confidence boost as he’s been nominated for the Premier League 2’s Player of the Month award following on from September’s action.

Having bagged a hattrick against West Bromwich Albion (4-2), he went on to help himself to a brace in the phenomenal clash with Stoke (8-0) to end the month with five goals in three games – helping to lift us to the top of the table.
Caleb has been nominated on the shortlist alongside Folarin Balogun (Arsenal), Sam Burns (Blackburn Rovers), Alfie Devine (Tottenham Hotspur), Baba Fernandes (Nottingham Forest), Joe Gelhardt (Leeds United) and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi (Crystal Palace).

Was thinking he might have an outside chance for the England u19's based on how many goals he has scored at Premier League 2 level … alas not to be, this time

Good prospect who has benefited hugely from the games down at Northampton, playing menโs football.
