A handful of post match reactions and tweets on our fabulous win over Blues, taking us to 7 wins in a row and to 2nd.:

Great result, great performance, can’t stop smiling. Still a little bit concerned that when we’re on top we don’t always take our chances and a better side than the bluenoses (that’s every other side in the championship) could take advantage. Overall more than pleased but still a lot of points to be earned yet but yes, we can see some light at the end of the tunnel, at last. – Fishvillan

Great result and great performance, Grealish grabbing load of headlines but Jedinak had awesome game as well, in fact a great overall team performance. Saturdays away game at Fulham another ‘huge’ games still we will say that for every game from now on until the end of the season. So a big THANKS to all the players and management at Villa Park for a great result. – Eddy1

That was glorious! One slip nearly gifted them a goal, apart from that, they just weren’t in the match at all. They did hit the bar later but Villa just looked comfortable for the whole game to me. Two great goals as well. – The Fear

Would add that the referee deserves some praise. He generally let the game flow and was not someone who needed to make himself the focal point. OK maybe Jack could have had a bit more protection, but overall I thought he was the best ref we have seen for some time. The sending off just crowned his performance! – gordonsleftboot

Great win, great goals. Looking very decent now and are standing taller than the opponents at the moment. Jack is growing every game and showing maturity on and off the ball. The mentality of the squad is first class, we are building the winning mentality again. – AdzVilla11

Yes, I also agree for a change it was good to see a ref have a decent game. He came into the game with a reputation of being very card happy which I thought would suit us better than the Noses who are no shrinking violets when it comes foul play! I’m still very happy after the result because of how much we needed those precious 3 points and how much it will hurt the Sty Dwellers even though they pretend they aren’t! Up The Villa.

Totally agree with AdzVilla11 Grealish has really manned up, absolute class yesterday was kicked, stamped on and just got up and got on with running the show, well done young MAN. Brilliant overall team performance, let’s keep it going against Fulham next week.

Brilliant performance and a lot more comfortable than I was expecting – on another day it could have been 4 or 5. We more than matched Blues for their so called passion and had far too much class for them. Bruce made the right call bringing Jedi back in for this one, I heard a few grumbles from people about Thor not playing, but it was justified with Jedi’s display – he was awesome. Next up Fulham away, and will be one of the toughest games we have left. Fingers crossed the teams below us keep dropping points and we can build a gap between us

Bruce has put together a squad that actually cares. That wearing the shirt and winning games for the club actually means something – it`s been a long time since I`ve felt that about our players. Long may it last.

Indeed McGrath4Pope, that’s a bunch of players the fans can really get behind. Some maybe limited, we have only a few what people may consider Premier League players, but every one of them care and play for the shirt. Can’t ask more as a fan. Full credit to Bruce for the team he has assembled and spirit they have. Exciting times.
