Aston Villa’s own meatball, John McGinn, continues to go from strength to strength and having shown he can make the step up to the Premier League following our promotion, the 24-year-old midfielder opened his international account on Friday evening as Scotland lost to Russia.
Scotland had few high points to take from the clash, but McGinn’s effort on the night, as he initially gave them the 1-0 advantage ten minutes into the clash, was definitely something they could celebrate.

For anyone who has seen the game or highlights, McGinn was far from at his best either really given how we have seen him perform, and the goal certainly wasn’t a corker – it might be the simplest goal he’s ever tapped in to be honest – but that hasn’t stopped Villa fans from celebrating him.
SHOCK

Looking around the net, it seems plenty in the Scottish crowd haven’t yet taken to the former Hibernian star, but let’s face it, it seems few care about international action these days and all that matters is how he performs for us.
