Aston Villa moved into the top-six of the Championship after a 3-0 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon and John McGinn was lauded by some supporters for his performance. Against Boro, McGinn made 80 touches, 50 passes with 90% accuracy, two chances, three dribbles, four shots, two tackles, one interception, three clearances and whipped in three crosses over the 90 minutes. He assisted Anwar El Ghazi for Villa’s opener in the 28th minute and scored their second goal of the game before half-time.

The Scottish international has made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Midlands outfit since his move from Hibernian last summer, scoring and creating 13 goals. McGinn has created 58 chances, made 56 successful dribbles (86%) and has averaged a tackle (73) and interception (32) every 27 minutes.

The Claret and Blues are sixth with 57 points from 38 games, boasting four consecutive wins.
