Aston Villa have a proud history of beards and following his reported £4million arrival from Crystal Palace back in August 2016, Australian legend Mile Jedinak more than takes his place in that unique list.

The 34-year-old was a key player for us in his arrival, but injury has held him back in more recent times and of course, he’s taken plenty of unfair flack from being played out of position – yet never complaining and simply giving his all to try and do a job for the side – and although he’d dearly love one last crack at the Premier League, a recent message on Instagram appears to have ruled out the option of one last season at Villa Park.

If he does bow out this summer, he goes with some great memories and whilst he didn’t get the pitch time this year he’d have liked, walking up to strike that penalty against West Bromwich Albion to help us through to Wembley will be ingrained in the hearts of many.

Quite ironic actually, makes a change seeing so many players leave on contract expiry without thinking finally.
