David O’Leary has told Luke Moore to build on his hat-trick and emulate Alan Shearer. He told the official site: ‘He is doing well and got his hat-trick, but people are aware of him now and he has to take it on again. Defenders will take more notice of Luke now because of the Middlesbrough game. Alan Shearer made his debut against us when I was at Arsenal and he had to deal with that extra attention from day one. Luke has got all the plaudits for the past week but that doesn’t mean anything unless you build upon it and move your career forwards.’

Jlloyd Samuel has said that he thinks he is getting back to his best and that he has relied on his family to help him through the hard times this season: ‘I feel I’m getting back to my best. I’m enjoying my football and it’s just nice to be playing regularly again’

Jlloyd Samuel has been linked to Turkish teams Besiktas and Fenerbahce.

Looks like links in are going to point to top players from massive clubs. Just seen this exciting (sic) rumour: 21-year-old Peterborough defender Sean St Ledger has been linked. Superb, can hardly wait to find out that we can’t even afford him in the summer.

Patrik Berger has returned to training today.

Craig Gardner picked up knee ligament damage against Newcastle. Jlloyd Samuel needs a scan on his knee and is doubtful for next Sunday’s FA Cup game v Man City, meaning Gareth Barry will probably have to move back once again as Wilfred Bouma is still not fit. Lee Hendrie was also injured following an awful tackle by Scott Parker but should recover in time. On the plus side, Gavin McCann has now served his suspension and James Milner will be able to return after sitting out Saturdays game due to the loan agreement with Newcastle.

Mark Delaney has defended his record at Villa and said that he thinks the club want him out. Full article: Click Here Our latest poll is asking if Villa should sign up Delaney on a new contract.

Vital Villa asked if you would care if O’Leary took the Newcastle job. 22% said they would drive him there themselves, 1% didn’t want him to go unless Ellis joined him (!) only 1% were undecided and 30% said they would care if he left. That left the majority, 46%, saying it would make no difference as long as Ellis was in charge.

Nobby Solano has said that he was disappointed with being booed on his return to Villa Park. He doesn’t seem to understand it wasn’t the fact he left, it was the WAY he left that ensures him nothing but a nasty reception anytime he returns to Villa. Full article: Click Here

David O’Leary said last week that he was happy as Villa manager and has said he has a job to do here. He didn’t exactly rule out a move to Newcastle, but said he couldn’t do anything to stop the speculation. He also said at least he wasn’t being linked to the England job! Full article: Click Here

Thought for the day: The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing in the right place, but also to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

  • I think its right that Nobby got booed – he was a fans favorite and he left Villa in a hurry with little commendation for the fans before his departure.

  • I’m glad to see that Berger fit again he was playing quite decent until he got injured. Samuel is wanted by Besiktas and fenerbache I cant believe that, still if we get good money from that atleast we will be able to but sean st ledger

  • Well Samuel was ‘leaving’ for Charlton or Fulham before the transfer window closed, now he is going to Turkey. Maybe the reporter mistook it for his summer holiday destination?!

  • Superb player from Peterborough hey things are looking up…maybe Mark Wright will be linked as a managerial target!

  • I think this news may have just been missed but we are being linked with a young defender from Celtic who is out of contract in the summer.

  • Berger is rubbish im sorry he was a panic but when the hammer left and he was good 2 seasons ago again we but to late we should off had him on a free when he left liverpool but again we show no ambition
