Aston Villa have now confirmed that our Premier League 2 Division 2 Play-Off Final against Brighton and Hove Albion will take place this coming Saturday (May 12).

The one-legged Final affair to decide promotion this season will kick off at 12pm and owing to our second-place finish in the table at Under 23 level, as expected the game will take place at Villa Park.

Entry is again free for Season Ticket Holders, but the match is available to all (unless you’re otherwise indisposed – see below). Adults are priced at Β£4 and concessions at Β£1.

Having progressed past Reading at the Semi-Final stage with a seven-goal thriller playing itself out with a 4-3 victory in our favour, hopes for this tie are incredibly high as we look for promotion into the Division 1 tier.

The lads are certainly on a high having lifted the Premier League Cup with a penalty victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium last Friday, so long may their success continue this term.

Over to Kevin MacDonald and Mark Delaney to weave their magic once again.

It must be said, the date of the game hasn’t gone down well given the first team are in their own Play-Off battle with Middlesbrough that day at the Riverside Stadium.

Fair to say, as others have pointed out the club won’t have specifically scheduled the date themselves, it would’ve been the authorities and Friday evening would’ve made far more sense but I’d trust the club to have made that argument and have been ignored.
