Villa Boss Says We Can Still Finish 4th

Martin O’Neill tried to remain positive after the loss v Spurs and says we can still finish 4th this season.

After today and with trips to Liverpool and Manchester United, not to mention a tough home tie v Everton, I have to hold my hands up and say I doubt it but then, it isn’t over until the fat lady sings. Who knows what can happen in this mad old game?

He admits the recent results don’t reflect his optimism but adds

‘It looks like we’re going to have to get something out of the next two games – at Liverpool and Manchester United – which will be incredibly tough but it is possible. The important thing is that the players still feel they can do it.’
