1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

Got into football and more specifically Villa when I was around 8, attended my first matches in the 99-00 season and got my first season ticket the year after. Luc Nilis’ screamer vs Chelsea my first goal witnessed as a Villa Park season ticket holder.

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Delighted with the appointment. Just what we needed. Young, vibrant, no nonsense manager who won’t stand for any trouble in the squad. Done remarkably with Wycombe, Colchester and Norwich and have no doubt he will be a fine appointment for Villa. More importantly it will get the fan base together again and finally can be positive about Villa again. He was my number one choice at the start and chuffed we got our man.

3) Best and worst moments of last season?
Best? Tough one. There wasn’t much to shout about was there? Probably the Wolves away win, was the only good away day of last season for me. Worst was for me the Bolton home game. That was shocking how we lost that game and Villa Park became nasty towards the manager that night. That’s when everyone woke up, including the board but I remember walking back to the car that night thinking we were doomed.

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

I’m still behind Randy and the board. They are good guys who have to learn the hard way over the last couple of years after allowing O’Neill too much of a free reign. Houllier’s appointment for me was unlucky rather than a disaster but there is no defending McLeish’s appointment. However they did what was needed, sacked him as soon as season finished and got their number one target within 2 weeks and hopefully a bit of investment will see us back up the table next season. The good thing with football is how on August 18th, the slate is wiped clean again ready for next season.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Quite a few I think. For me, a goalkeeper, a full back, a centre back, 2 centre mids, a winger and a forward are needed. Who? I have no idea. That’s what the manager is there for. Too many players to think about.

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?
Questions marks hang over Hutton, Collins, Dunne, Warnock, Makoun, N-Zogbia and Delfouneso definitely.

7) Favourite current player?

Stiliyan Petrov.

8) Favourite all time player/s?

Paul Merson.

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?

Premier: 8th
FA Cup: 5th Round
Carling: Semi Final
